Corporate Membership
A marketplace for business and enterprise
The Stationers' - shorthand for The Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers is a community of like-minded executives leading today's £75bn communications and graphic industries.
In addition to some 770 individual members - Freemen and Liverymen (of both genders) - membership is open to companies with interests in the sectors spanned by the Stationers offering an honoured place in the Company and participation for the member's senior executives in its activities.
Dating from 1403, the Stationers is today the single force unifying the modern industries that range from print, papermaking and packaging, through stationery, to all aspects of publishing and broadcasting; along with those who supply these industries, from plastics substrate manufacture, through machinery and equipment companies, to telecoms, software and service suppliers.
In short, against the background of convergence, it is a perfect neutral environment for suppliers and customers to network beyond immediate customers, suppliers and competitors.
With its broad and diverse membership, the Stationers offers something no single trade association or professional institution can match; and no hotel, restaurant or meeting room can equal the impact made by the Hall and its contents.
Corporate Member Benefits
- Corporate Members may nominate their Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and up to two other senior directors/executives to be included as Associate Liverymen - full members of the Livery while the company's membership remains in force.
- The Company will assist and encourage CEOs of all Corporate Members to apply for the Freedom of the City of London, so that they become eligible to apply for full personal membership of the Company as Liverymen. They may then be elected to serve on or chair committees, and to serve on the Court. Associates will not have these rights.
- The CEO will be an honoured guest at the main 'industry' event each year, the Charter Dinner, when we entertain the Presidents of the various industry associations with their permanent officers.
- The CEO will be invited to an annual 'Captains of Industry' dinner.
- Corporate Members are offered free use of the Company's historic hall in each year of membership with second or subsequent use at 20% discount (subject to availability and to standard terms and conditions; catering, staff, equipment and other costs will be charged at normal commercial rates.)
- The names of Corporate Members (or Logos, where more appropriate) will be included in all relevant Company literature, and on the Company website.
Corporate hospitality - At a very special level
In addition to Corporate Members' own dedicated events, Associates may bring their own guests (applying for tickets on an equal footing with Liverymen) to any Company event including:- The Charter Dinner - an industry leaders event
- The Civic Dinner - at which the Company entertains the newly-installed Lord Mayor and Sheriffs.
- The Livery Lecture - and the accompanying informal dinner at which each Corporate Member will have the option of hosting one table.
- Other events organised by the Industry Group Forum: including the Summer Forum and Autumn Event.
- Other social events organised for the Livery and their guests, including dinners, receptions and visits.
Direct Involvement with the Industry Group forum
The Company's Trade and Industry Forum organises events on subjects of topical interest, which attract participation from well beyond the membership of the Company, including the CEOs of many of the most important companies in our industries. As a Corporate Member, you will be able to play a pivotal role in its activities with an opportunity to nominate a Industry Group committee member, to contribute to the planning of events and choice of subjects, first refusal on sponsorship opportunities, and the ability to extend participation to your customers and staff.
What one Corporate Member says
"Involvement with The Stationers' has brought Cambridge University Press to the attention of our suppliers and customers at a considerable saving in terms of shoe leather. It's good fun and good for business at the same time."
Stephen Bourne, Chief Executive, Cambridge University Press.
