Livery Hall

The Livery Hall is the largest of the function rooms. Gleaming oak flooring and carved oak panelling originating from the 1600s together with huge stained glass windows give this room a an impressive ambience. A light and airy room ideal for larger day and evening events.

The huge stained glass windows, backlit for evening events, depict William Shakespeare, William Caxton, St Cecelia, William Tynedale & Archbishop Cranmer. The larger north window purports to display Edward IV and his Queen, Elizabeth Woodville, being shown a proof by William Caxton.

At the south end there is a carved screen, surmounted by a minstrels’ gallery, which may be used for small bands or choirs. Candlelight and music is permitted in this room, as is dancing by prior arrangement.
