Master of the Stationers’ Company 2012 – 2013
After an initial career with the Bowater Paper Corporation as a Management Trainee and latterly in the Sales Company, Kevin left to co-found Hedsorboard which grew to become the largest specialist converter and distributor of packaging and graphic paperboard in the UK. This business was successfully sold to a major Finnish forest products business in 1991 and Kevin remained as Managing Director until 1996.
He was President of the National Association of Paper Merchants in 1991 and President of the Stationers Social Society (now the Paper Industry Charitable Trust) in 2001.
Kevin then embarked on a new career of consultancy and Non-Executive Director roles, becoming an angel investor supporting the growth of 11 businesses to date. He is still actively involved with two of these today. For 6 years he was a business mentor for the Princes Trust helping unemployed young people to start their own business and was the Mentor Coordinator for Surrey for three years, recruiting and training mentors and serving on the Surrey Board.
Since 2006 he has been a Trustee of the Shooting Star Children's Hospice in Hampton, which has recently merged with a similar hospice call CHASE in Guildford. He is Director of their commercial company, operating charity shops and a Director of the Tuckwell CHASE Lottery. The charitiy helps over 600 families of life-limited children in West London, Surrey and parts of Hampshire and West Sussex.
His Livery career started in 1991 and he became a Court Assistant in 2003. He has served on a number of committees and latterly as Chairman of the Stationers' Foundation, which operates the Company's charities.
Kevin is interested in drama (in front and behind the footlights), fly fishing, walking, rugby and his growing family.
He is married with two adult daughters plus two (to date) grandchildren and lives in Surrey.
