Literary Lunch with Liveryman Andrew Marsden
Location: Christopher Wren Dining Room, Ye Olde Watling Pub,
29 Watling Road, London EC4M 9BR
Join us for our next Literary Lunch at the historic Ye Olde Watling pub which will feature Shrieval Candidate Liveryman Andrew Marsden in conversation with Peter Day.
Liveryman Andrew Marsden, is intending to stand as a candidate for Non-Aldermanic Sheriff in 2022-23. Peter Day will be interviewing Andrew to discuss the reasons for him applying for the role and the historical context behind the role.
Basking in the shade of St Paul’s Cathedral, this pub is located in the heart of the city of London, on the historic Roman Road, Watling Street. After being burned down in the Great Fire of London, the pub was rebuilt by Sir Christopher Wren in 1668 to house his workers and, most importantly, provide somewhere for them to drink. The plans for St Paul’s Cathedral were actually drawn up in what is now their dining room — quite a claim to fame!
The cost of this lunchtime event, which starts at 1.00pm, is just £30 and includes a traditional two-course lunch, as well as an after-lunch talk by Andrew Marsden.
We are restricted to 40 attendees, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
