Sheep Drive 2023 – Sunday, 24 September 2023

Celebrating its 11th Anniversary, the 2023 Sheep Drive will be led by the Rt Hon the Lord Mayor, Nicholas Lyons; – and a special celebrity guest, still to be announced. Southwark Bridge will be closed for the day to allow Freemen of the City of London, their family and friends to drive sheep over the Thames.

At the same time, there will be a full-scale Livery Fair located on Queens Street Place at the Primary Entrance to the Sheep Drive, showcasing the best in Wool and Craftsmanship taking place from 10am – 4pm. This ewe-nique Livery event is once again in aid of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal and the Woolmen’s Charity.

The Livery Committee have secured 30 places at the Sheep Drive which will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The three time slots are 11.07am, 11.14am and 11.21am. I will get in touch with you to let you know your time slot once all 30 places have been allocated.

Places are open to Freemen of the City of London and their family and friends at £65 per person + £10 donation to the Stationers’ Hall Charity. This will entitle each participant to a place on the drive and a commemorative certificate signed by the Lord Mayor and the Master Woolman. It also offers a fantastic photo opportunity!

Following the drive, there will be drinks / lunch at the Little Ship Club at each individuals own expense.

If you would like to book in, please contact Dave Rosewell, the Livery Committee Treasurer on dave.rosewell@icloud.com and he will give you the bank details.

Dave will also need your full name (as this will appear on the certificate!)
