Who Can Join?

Unlike some other livery companies, our members must be associated in some way to the Communication and Content industries. We encourage and welcome diversity – sectoral and cultural – within our membership and would be happy to hear from you, even if you have now retired.

What our members tend to have in common is a passion for our industries, a philanthropic desire to ‘give back’ and a wish to meet like-minded people through fellowship and networking.

Benefits of our Memberships

We have a full calendar of social and business events both in Stationers’ Hall, in other venues in the City of London and activities across the country. We also take part in inter-livery events to meet and network with members of other livery companies.

We organise a wide variety of formal and informal events, providing members the opportunity to meet, bring guests and enjoy unforgettable fellowship events in Stationers’ Hall, the City of London and across the country.

We are a membership led organisation. Stationers’ Hall belongs to its members, who have access to an incredible historic Grade 1 listed scheduled monument in the heart of the City of London. Meeting rooms are available, as is a ‘drop-in’ work area especially for Liverymen. Members also benefit from preferential room hire rates.

Membership of the Stationers’ Company brings kudos and regard, elevating you and your business’ brand image. Membership also provides superb PR opportunities for individuals and corporates to shout about.

There are many ways in the Stationers’ Company to give back to others in our trades, through mentoring programmes, through the Foundation which supports education and welfare, through the Hall Charity which supports our archives and Stationers’ Hall. Our members sit as governors of Leigh Stationers’ Academy and Leigh Stationers’ Primary Academy and give their time as trustees of our charities and committees – a force for good.

The Stationers’ Company welcomes applications from people who live and work outside of the UK within the Communication and Content industries. We have a growing membership in North America and in Europe, who are actively engaged in the Stationers community.

We encourage those interested in membership to get in touch to explore how they might most easily learn about the Company and go through the membership procedure.

What our corporate members say

“Being a Corporate Member of the Stationers’ Company is both an honour and a natural fit for Bakers. As a family-run business rooted in print for over 50 years, we value the Company’s heritage, its commitment to craftsmanship, and its support for the industries that shape our future. Membership gives us the opportunity to contribute to a community that champions innovation, skills and integrity—principles that have always guided our own journey.”
