The poems in this book seek to capture moments of magic I have experienced, encouraging the reader to stop and ponder. They invite a pause in our hectic lives to remember that existence is not always defined by visibility, nor significance by permanence. An insight, a musing, a vibe, a natural phenomenon, a spiritual presence, a flash of mystery, divine timing – all are described in these poems.

Two Sides has now challenged over 3,000 organisations worldwide found to be making misleading environmental claims about paper. As a result, more than 1,320 organisations have removed or amended unsubstantiated statements, such as “Go Green – Go Paperless” or “Choose e-billing and help save a tree.“
The rise in greenwashing is often driven by economic pressures, with many organisations shifting customers from paper-based communications to digital platforms to reduce their costs. Unfortunately, this transition is frequently accompanied by deceptive environmental messaging that misleads consumers into believing digital is a more sustainable option.

On Tuesday, 15 July The Queen was cloathed in the livery of the Stationers’ and Newspaper Makers’ Company, the City of London livery company for the communications and content industries, in recognition of Her Majesty’s work for literacy.
At an historic ceremony at Stationers’ Hall, the Master of the Stationers’ Company, Doug Wills, cloathed Her Majesty in the gown of the livery.

Following the success of the inaugural First Chapter Award last year, the Society of Young Publishers (SYP) and The Publishing Post have opened applications for a second year running.
The First Chapter Award celebrates the determination and passion of early-career publishing professionals, open to those within the first five years of their career within the publishing or book-related industries. Marbled paper, with its mesmerising swirls and intermingling colours, was first introduced to western Europe around 400 years ago and was met with great admiration and curiosity. This talk will explore the eastern origins of the art and its reception in places like England. Using examples from Guildhall Library's own collection, we will look at some of the classic marbling styles and consider the use of paper marbling in bookbinding and beyond.
