9 SEPTEMBER 2025
City of London & Cripplegate Photographic Society exhibition 3rd - 29th October 2025, at the Barbican Library, Barbican Centre, Silk Street, London, EC2Y 8DS.
City of London & Cripplegate Photographic Society will launch its biennial members’ exhibition at the Barbican Library on 3rd October. Almost forty members of the Society, which has been in existence for more than 125 years, have contributed images which will be on display throughout October 2025. There are seventy images for visitors to see, plus a display of photographs from the Society’s 125th anniversary visit to St Paul’s Cathedral and additional themed displays by
members, including ‘Surrounded by circles’ by Des Hill, New York zine by Colin Page and ‘We are not a number’ by Nicholas Bowman.
The show is called My Eyes. Our World, which encapsulates the concept that photographers see the world differently; everywhere they look, they see a photograph… not just an image, but a view of the world from their perspective. It may be Our World, but each and every one of us lives in it differently. The exhibition aims to show that our experience of the place that we live, work or travel to is open to interpretation, which makes us, as human beings, unique individuals.
Says Nicholas Bowman, the Society’s Chair, “This is a great opportunity for our members to showcase their work, and we’re delighted to continue our association with the Barbican. The Library is the perfect setting for people to come and view our photographs. We’re delighted with the variety of images that form the exhibition; there is a wide range of styles and techniques that the photographers have used when creating their images. Whether you enjoy portraiture, architectural, landscape, street, wildlife or abstract, we hope you find something to enjoy…
Many are available to purchase.” Entry to the exhibition is free of charge.
Private View: 8th October 6.00 pm until 8.30 pm
