New stationer, Dr Sharon Maxwell Magnus, also has a new book out in July. Feminism: UK Women's Magazines and the Women Who Created Them, 1975-1992, Glossy Cover or Cultural Shift?(Routledge, print and ebook), explores the important role that women's magazines played in raising awareness of feminism and the women's movement during the 1970s-1990s, examining which aspects of feminism, and indeed which feminisms were represented by three very different magazines. It also features in-depth interviews with editors and senior staff of the period, to assemble an important historical record of this important part of print culture.
