Following a review by the Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI), it has been agreed that the Paper Industry Gold Awards will move to a two-year cycle, with the next ceremony scheduled for 2027.
The Paper Gold Medal Committee met recently and has confirmed that the Paper Gold Medal will remain an integral part of the Awards, continuing to represent the highest individual honour in the UK’s Paper-based Industries. The Gold Medal recognises outstanding people who work to further the interests of the industry, over and above their duties to any individual company, and will once again be the centrepiece of the 2027 event.
This decision aligns the Awards with CPI’s Biennial Health and Safety Conference, which is the organisation’s flagship event. The change ensures a more balanced and sustainable calendar of major industry activity. It will also allow CPI and its partners to dedicate the right level of time and resource to both events, supporting high-quality delivery, stronger engagement, and wider member participation across the UK’s Paper-based Industries.
We would welcome your continued support for the Paper Gold Medal. Sponsorship of £500 contributes to the administration, judging, and promotion of the award. CEOs of supporting associations will also be invited to take part in the Gold Medal Committee and judging panel, ensuring the award remains representative and independent.
While the next Awards will take place in 2027, CPI will maintain regular communication and promotion throughout 2026 to ensure awareness and momentum remain strong. We encourage all associations to start considering potential nominees and stories of excellence that deserve to be recognised.
