14 JULY 2025
Expert judges at The Stationer’s Company have now whittled down their top picks of the brands going above and beyond in 6 categories ranging from Start Ups to Ed Tech.
The ultimate winners will be announced at a champagne reception on 17th October 2025 at the historic Stationer’s Hall in London, where some of the communications and content industry’s big hitters will come together to find out who has been honoured with a coveted trophy from the Innovation Excellence Awards.
Judges review a rigorous set of criteria, including how the innovations improve customer experience, how the innovation meets an unmet need in the market, strength of customer response and scalability for start-ups. This ensures that brands that make the shortlist are the best in their field.
This year the judges also looked closely at how brands are performing when it comes sustainability including both social and environmental impact across the six categories: Business Process, Communications including marketing, Customer Experience, Education Technology, Product Design, Educational Technology (“Ed Tech”) and Start-Ups.
The awards are a unique opportunity for businesses or individuals to celebrate innovation excellence in their fields and to raise awareness for their company or brand. Through the awards, the Stationers’ Company recognises the key role the Communications and Content industries play in the UK economy, highlights outstanding innovation in the sector and offers the opportunity to share best practice.
Vida Barr-Jones and Kate Howell, the awards co-chairs said:
“The Innovation Excellence Awards celebrate the best of the Content and Communications industry in the UK today.
Innovation is crucial for companies’ growth, competitiveness, and wider societal advancement. It leads to new products, services, and processes that improve lives and create opportunities. In a rapidly changing world, innovation is essential for businesses to adapt, stay relevant, and thrive and we want to celebrate that.
Our judges had a tough job on their hands this year and were bowled over by the exceptionally high quality of entries received. We want to extend a huge congratulations to all the shortlisted brands and companies - they should be very proud of themselves.”
Among those shortlisted across the different categories for this year’s awards are brands such as Xerox, FabLittleBag, XigXag, Workplace 360 and Interflex for their work on Quality Street confectionery packaging.
As always, the shortlisting process and the final judging is conducted by judges who are experts in the industry and is both rigorous and impartial.
Now in their 11th year, the awards are open to all sectors across the Communications and Content industries; including journalism, newspaper & magazine publishing, packaging; paper making & paper converting, printing, academic & information publishing, fine stationery, greeting cards & office products and related intellectual property, archival, and digital born businesses. Nominations came from commercial companies, start-ups, charities, trade associations, educational institutions, and public bodies.
