THE PRINTER IN RESIDENCE SCHEME

27 JANUARY 2026

The Printer in Residence Scheme

Alongside this exhibition we seek to appoint a Printer in Residence to produce a contemporary response to the exhibition and to be an important part of the public engagement programme for the project.

Senate House Library Launches Printer in Residence Scheme | Senate House Library | University of London

The Printer in Residence will:

  • Run two workshops on printing, one aimed at students and Library users, and one aimed at the general public. An external space, such as the St. Bride Foundation, could be used for this if needed.
  • Convene one event with the support of Senate House Library staff on a subject relevant to the exhibition. This could be a lecture, roundtable or in conversation event.
  • Produce a printed response to the exhibition which will be added to Senate House Library collections.
  • Collaborate on a short film with a videographer on their printed response to the exhibition.

The Printer in Residence will receive an honorarium of £2500 for this work, of which travel and accommodation costs will need to be covered from within it. Costs related to the workshops, roundtable event and video will be covered by Senate House Library.
