OPEN HOUSE FESTIVAL

20 SEPTEMBER 2022

Open House Festival

On Sunday, 11 September Stationers' Hall opened for the Open House Festival. This was just three days after the death of Her Majesty the Queen and no-one was very certain about whether there would a big take-up but we need not have worried.

Yes, it was a little slower than in previous years but nonetheless with around 700 visitors coming through the door it was a great success. As well as learning about the history of the building from the very knowledgeable team of Hall tour guides, the visitors were able to view an exhibition of bookbinding in the Great Hall

organised by Liveryman Chris Andrews who took the photo above. The visitors were given a booklet kindly printed by PurePrint containing historical details of the Company and the Hall as well as a guide to the bookbinding exhibition.

The refreshment stations sold £350 worth of teas and coffees in the garden which looked glorious in the sunshine and the volunteers on the merchandise stall sold £150 worth of merchandise!

We had fantastic feedback from all attendees so a huge thank you to all involved.
