Press release – British Coatings Federation Goes the Distance forMyton Hospices at Sixth Annual Charity Cycle

On Friday 3rd July, the British Coatings Federation (BCF) hosted its sixth annual charity bike ride
in aid of The Myton Hospices, setting off from its Coventry office before taking riders through the
Warwickshire countryside. This year’s fundraising efforts have so far raised over £10,000 for
Myton in memory of BCF colleague Callum Plummer, who sadly passed away in January 2025 at
the age of just 22.
This year’s event saw 38 riders, who took part in one of three distances: 35km, 52km, or 100km.
BCF participants have now cycled a total of 24,638km over the course of all six charity bike
rides, a distance equivalent to travelling from Coventry to Argentina and back.
The Myton Hospices are dedicated to enhancing life when cure is no longer an option;
supporting people living with a terminal illness, and their families, from the point of diagnosis to
end of life.

The total funds raised from the BCF event could provide, for example:

• 294 days of accommodation for relatives
• 333 hours of specialist nursing care
• 333 children’s counselling sessions
• 79 weeks (1.5 years) of meals for patients

  Plummer.

  coatings sector community, and it is wonderful to see that effort making a real difference to a
  charity that provides such important care for people and families across our region.”
