The ALPSP International Mentorship Scheme, supported by PLS and Digital Science, has secured the prestigious Mentorloop Impact Award for a third-year running.
The award recognises the scheme’s strength across four areas: Shared Philosophy, Opportunity and Accessibility, Engagement and Satisfaction, and Overall Impact.
The scheme has expanded rapidly since its launch, growing from 66 participants in 2022 to more than 300 in 2026. It now brings together people from over 90 organisations across 17 countries. Open to publishing professionals at every stage of their careers, the programme creates meaningful connections that support learning, progression and professional development. Participants consistently report greater confidence, career momentum and access to new opportunities. ALPSP has also made the scheme easier to join through an “always-on” model, removing the need to wait for an annual intake. The introduction of self-matching this year gives participants greater choice over their mentoring connections. Alongside these developments, the programme’s quality score has risen to a record 4.66 out of 5.
The mentorship scheme forms a central part of the ALPSP Careers Hub and is available free of charge to employees of member organisations participating as mentees. Mentors come from both member and non-member organisations, helping to create an inclusive network with genuinely global reach. As a founding member of C4DISC, ALPSP actively welcomes applications from people from diverse and marginalised groups.
This latest recognition reflects the programme’s sustained impact, and we look forward to extending its benefits to an even wider community in the years ahead.
