Members of Livery Companies and their families are invited to a two-course buffet lunch after what has been termed: “the greatest free show on earth”. This gives the perfect opportunity for all family members of those connected with Livery Companies, especially children and grandchildren, to experience Stationers’ Hall before and after the fabulous display of the Lord Mayor’s procession – bands, horsemen, coaches, soldiers and many exciting floats and entertainers.
The Hall will be open from 10.15 am to 11.00 am for coffee, tea and biscuits and then will close until 12.30 pm. Ludgate Hill and the vicinity of St Paul’s Cathedral offers a good standing view of the procession, which starts to pass by at about 11.15 am. At 12.15 pm the Lord Mayor’s coach pauses at St Paul’s for a blessing on the steps of the Cathedral, after which the Lord Mayor moves down Ludgate Hill on his way to the Royal Courts in the Strand.
At 12.30 pm a two-course hot buffet lunch will be served in the Hall, together with a glass of wine (soft drinks for children). A voucher will be issued to those who have bought tickets on entering Stationers’ Hall for lunch. (It is important that you collect your vouchers on arrival, as you will need to show them when you receive your lunch). There will be an opportunity to purchase additional drinks if you would like to.
Entertainment will be provided in the form of a magician and a fabulous raffle.
