The ultimate winners will be announced at a champagne reception on 17th October 2025 at the historic Stationer’s Hall in London, where some of the communications and content industry’s big hitters will come together to find out who has been honoured with a coveted trophy from the Innovation Excellence Awards.

Applications for the Society of Young Publishers (SYP) and The Publishing Post’s First Chapter Award are now open for early-career professionals

Following the success of the inaugural First Chapter Award last year, the Society of Young Publishers (SYP) and The Publishing Post have opened applications for a second year running.
The First Chapter Award celebrates the determination and passion of early-career publishing professionals, open to those within the first five years of their career within the publishing or book-related industries. Notably, the award aims to celebrate a wide range of roles within the industry; publishing hopefuls, volunteers, booksellers, freelancers, librarians, early-career publishing professionals, students, BookTok influencers, and anyone else involved in the publishing community are encouraged to apply.

Marbled Paper - This talk will explore the eastern origins of the art and its reception in places like England.

Marbled paper, with its mesmerising swirls and intermingling colours, was first introduced to western Europe around 400 years ago and was met with great admiration and curiosity. This talk will explore the eastern origins of the art and its reception in places like England. Using examples from Guildhall Library's own collection, we will look at some of the classic marbling styles and consider the use of paper marbling in bookbinding and beyond. Join Mary Penman to learn more.

Last week Liveryman Kindra Faulks was in Dublin to launch the official publication marking the Tercentenary of the Grand Lodge of Ireland.
The prestigious three-day celebrations were well attended by Grand Masters and delegations from across the world, including Europe, India, the USA and East Asia. Kindra and Martin Faulks runs Lewis Masonic, the world’s oldest masonic publisher.

On Tuesday 17th June 2025 representatives from across the UK’s Paper-based Industries gathered in Stationers’ Hall, London, to celebrate the achievements of the industry.
The Paper Industry Gold Awards were hosted by Andrew Large, Director General of the Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI). This year’s awards were presented by Jonathan Ashworth, Chief Executive of Labour Together and former Labour Shadow Cabinet Minister.
