VISIT TO ROYAL MARINES RESERVE BASE, WANDSWORTH - 16 MARCH

The Master, Upper Warden, Under Warden and the Clerk visited the RMR barracks in Wandsworth to present the annual Stationers’ Award, an inscribed Commando Dagger, to their top recruit, Marine Robert Dunlop.
Six recruits successfully completed the Commando course in February, receiving the prized Royal Marines Green Beret. The Stationers’ team were ably hosted by the Commanding Officer, Lt Col Olly Todd RM, who gave an insightful briefing about the Future Commando Force, where technology will give smaller commando units greater advantage. Then it was onto the firing range, where the Master and Wardens were instructed on how to use both firearms and night-vision equipment.
Finally, the recruits were gathered in the Mess where the Master presented Marine Dunlop with the Stationers’ Award and in
return Lt Col Olly Todd RM presented the Master with an RMR London shield.
We are very proud of our affiliation with the Royal Marines and all the work they do to defend our nation and democracy.
