A SERVICE TO REMEMBER AND SUPPORT THOSE IN THE MEDIA WHO ARE COVERING THE CONFLICT IN UKRAINE

21 MARCH 2022

A Service to remember and support those in the media who are covering the conflict in Ukraine

Members will be keen to be aware of a service to be held  at St Bride’s Church, Fleet Street on Thursday, 24 March 2022 at 11.30am to support those those journalists, producers, photographers, camera-crew, sound-crew, interpreters and fixers who are covering the conflict in Ukraine.

The service, entitled ‘UNDER FIRE: Journalists and Ukraine’, will also serve to remind everyone that there are many journalists who are missing or held captive, and many more who continue to report at great risk throughout the world.

Caroline Wyatt, former BBC Defence Correspondent, will present a personal reflection on the work of journalists reporting in such circumstances, and readings will be given by Patrick Kidd, Diary Editor of The Times, and Timothy Worledge, Editorial Director of Fastmarkets Agriculture.

Canon Alison Joyce, Rector of St Bride’s, will officiate at the service and music will be led by the renowned St Bride’s Choir with additional music played by celebrated cellist Raphael Wallfisch.

Proceeds from the service will be donated to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
