A COMPETITION FOR YOUNG WRITERS

2 JUNE 2020

A competition for young writers

Auris, the Service Development Category award winners at last year's Stationers' Innovation Ezxcellence Awards announce a new compeition.

We have been delighted to hear of Auris's  progress since the Stationers' Innovation Excellence Awards Day last June  especially when they launched the world's first listening bookshop and when Claire Balding OBE was named Brand Amabassador

Now they are back in touch to tell us about a major competition for young writers. The Young Authors’ Competition is open to children in two age groups - up to 9 years old and 10 years and older. Children up to 9 years are asked to submit no more than 600 words and older children, 900 words.

The Closing date is 31 July and then entires will be judge by Claire Balding plus Francesca Simon, who has written over fifty books for children of all ages, including the famous Horrid Henry series and Greg James and Chris Smith, co-authors of the Kid Normal books.

The winning entries, for each age group and category, will have their stories uploaded to the Fonetti library, to be read by children worldwide, as well as receiving a signed book from the judges.

The judges will also award an overall winning entry, the young author of which will receive a printed copy of their prize-winning book as well as a framed copy of its front cover.

Full details can found here.

Maybe all those parents and grandparents who are still trying to occupy their young family members will be able to encourage them to enter!
